School Board Approves Construction Bond for May 2026 Ballot

Three icons on a yellow background: wrench and hammer for updates, calendar for bond replacement, and hand with coin for funds.
Monday night, the School Board approved placing a construction bond on the May 19, 2026 ballot. With the previous bond due to be paid off this year, the proposed bond is expected to keep taxes at the same rate of $1.09 per $1,000 of assessed value. If approved by voters, the bond would raise $30 million for updates, renovations, and repairs across the district. Additionally, we are already approved to receive an additional $10.2 million through a state grant if the bond passes.

An informational website is now live, and you can see it at this link. Bookmark it and use this to share with others. It will be the place to get accurate information about the bond.

Representative from College Possible at Cascade

On Wednesday, a representative from College Possible spoke to students at the Cascade Opportunity Center and to the AVID class at Cascade High School. She gave super practical steps about what to look for in a college: how big a campus do you want? Do you want it to be walkable? Big city or small?

She also showed why college can make a difference and finding the right fit for your career goals, whether college or trade school.

FFA Students to the Capitol

On Wednesday some of our Cascade High School FFA students joined other FFA students from across the state at the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

These students had an amazing day, hearing from legislators, lobbyists, and learning how important agriculture is to the economy in Oregon.

Our students then met with Senator Girod, sharing how FFA makes a difference in their lives. It was a great meeting with Senator Girod, and we appreciate his support of FFA Funding. You can see more picture on our Facebook page.

Calendar for 2026-2027 Approved

At Monday's School Board meeting, the Board approved the Academic Calendar for the 2026-27 school year. We want you to have the calendar as soon as possible so that you can make plans for your family.

Please note that Labor Day is quite late this year, so school will begin the week before Labor Day. The first day of school for grades 1-9 will be Monday, August 31; the first day for grades 10-12 will be Tuesday, September 1. The last day of school is June 10. (Starting after Labor Day would mean school would be in session much further into the month of June.)
